First, true confessions! I am addicted to Stampin' Up! and card making! I dream about cards! I think about cards all the time! I see Stampin' Up! colors in my grandson's clothing! I make associations to stamps, embossing folders, and papers wherever I go!
So, a few weeks ago I was in Home Depot and I saw this.....
and I immediately thought, "I need to use my Tin Tile Embossing Folder!" I hadn't used it in a while and so that idea made me smile. Well, you know how it is. Life is busy. I didn't get to making a card with that embossing folder right away. Then, a few days later, I met friends for coffee. I went to the ladies' room- not too odd! After I was done in the ladies' room I fetched my phone and went back in. My friends did think that was odd- and took a picture of this!
There is that TIN TILE EMBOSSING FOLDER again! It was haunting me!
So, today I made it into my craft room to play with the Tin Tile Embossing Folder. It was so much fun. Having also received my Holiday Catalog Preorder this week, I decided to use a couple of stamps from two new sets....
Here's the Holiday Card I made - because doesn't everyone make a holiday card in August?
I used two different coloring techniques with this card. After I embossed with the Tin Tile EF, I colored the smokey slate piece of card stock with Basic Gray ink and a sponge dauber.
See the clear star and the red star on two of the trees? Those stars only came in clear (I think they are retired) but I colored one with the dark cherry cobbler stampin' blends. It was so easy and dried so fast. I also colored the ribbon with the same blends. See....
Did you know you can color pearls and rhinestones with the stampin' blends markers, too?
So, please share with us.... Where do you get your inspiration? Comment below!
Then, go make a card and mail it off to brighten someone's day!
