This post is part of a blog hop that is filled with projects created with and inspired by February's Paper Pumpkin kit. I love the February Paper Pumpkin kit as the cards are beautiful and very comforting. Here are the cards I created. The card with the lacy element was not made exactly according to the instructions...I preferred the white side of the lace and landscape orientation.
When completing the kit as instructed you don't use the large bouquet of flowers stamp. So I couldn't wait to create a card that featured that stamp. Here's the card I created:
I love the bouquet of flowers but I did not want to color them all. I colored the largest flowers both to "pack a punch" and because I felt these matched the flowers on the patterned paper. It was quick and easy to color them using my Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray Stampin' Blends. The ribbon is colored with Just Jade Stampin' Blends.
To put this card together, I cut the front off of one of the Paper Pumpkin card bases and trimmed it to 5 1/4" x 4". (Both the front and back of the card bases are patterned paper so I decided I could make twice as many cards if I cut the card bases into mat size. )
I layered that on a thick Basic White card base and then I cut a 5" x 3 3/4" piece of the Flower & Field DSP. I wrapped a piece of Misty Moonlight ribbon around that layer before I layered it onto the others. I love the mixture of the patterns and the fact that the colors coordinate so well.
Next, I stamped the bouquet of flowers on basic white and cut it with the largest oval from the Layering Ovals dies. I colored the three largest flowers and the ribbon. Then I stamped the sentiment from the kit on white and trimmed it with the 1 3/8" circle punch. (Oops, that is retired but you could use the 1 1/2" circle instead.) I popped the sentiment up on dimensionals.
I hope you will check out the creations made by the talented crafters in the list below!
