My latest Tuesday tradition is participating in the CASE-ing Tuesday Challenge. Each week a photo of a card from the catalog and a sketch are posted and ANYONE (you included) is invited to play along. This is #302! Here's the photo of the card in the catalog and the sketch:
The first element I noticed about this card was the background piece of patterned paper covering the entire front of the card base. I always leave a border of the card base showing. I know it doesn't seem like much but I thought I'd give it a try.
My background paper is from the 6" x 6" Brights DSP pack. I chose one of the Coastal Cabana patterns. I also realized that I don't have a background stamp in my stash that I could use on the four rectangles. (That must mean I need to order a few, right?) I adapted the sketch and used four rectangles from the Stitched So Sweetly dies. I also added another layer...the white mat under the rectangles. Here's the card that I made:
I love the color combination of Coastal Cabana and Misty Moonlight. I'm not sure if I'll use this for a birthday card or a thinking of you card so I did not put a sentiment on the front.
I hope you'll look at the sketch and give this layout a try. It was fun.
Live in the USA and need a demonstrator? I'd be happy to help you make cards like this at home. Sign up to receive tips, tricks and inspiration in your inbox every week.
Everyone who purchases with me will receive a free tutorial (or two) via email. Here's a sneak peek at what I'm gifting customers right now:
