Welcome to our Creativity Abounds Blog Hop. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world that are coming together to share our creative ideas with you. We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can inspire you to make creations of your own.
You may be starting here or have come from someone else's blog - either way there is a list at the end of this post to help you visit all the different blogs and get many amazing ideas. We all have our country listed - so if you are looking for a demonstrator in your country, these demonstrators would love to look after you with your Stampin' Up!® shopping or if you would like to join our Stampin' Up!® teams. If you are in the United States, I'd love to be your demonstrator or have you join my team!
This month our theme is the Dandy Garden Suite on pages 24-27 of the January -June Mini Catalog. I chose to use the dragonfly image and a sentiment from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set as well as three different papers from the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper pack. The Gilded Leafing on the dragonfly is full of shimmer and shine. It adds a striking touch to this card. This is a joy fold card and here is a photo of the card when opened.
To create this card, begin by cutting a Blackberry Bliss card base that is 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" and score it at 3". Fold the 3" section to the right. Adhere a 2 3/4" x 4" piece of Dandy Garden paper to the front of that piece and a second piece from the same pack cut to 4" x 5 1/4" to the inside of the card base.
Next, create a smaller Blackberry Bliss card base 3" x 8" and score it at 4". Fold it in half and adhere it to the middle of the larger card base so it swings open to the right. On the inside of the smaller card base, adhere a basic white 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece of card stock. If desired, stamp a sentiment on this piece. Then close the smaller base and adhere a third pattern of Dandy Garden paper measuring 2 3/4" x 3 3/4" onto the front.
To decorate the front of the smaller card base, die cut the second largest stitched oval in Basic White. "For a true friend" is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on the left hand side. The dragon fly was stamped on Blackberry Bliss card stock in Versamark Ink and sprinkled with Heat & Stick powder. The heat and stick powder was melted with the Heat tool and then laid in a bin filled with Gilded Leafing. The excess Gilded Leafing was gently rubbed off with a wedge of Stampin' Sponge. Then the dragonfly was punched out using the Dragonflies Punch. This was adhered to the front of the card with dimensionals.
I hope you will check out the cards created by the rest of the Creativity Abounds Design Team. Just click on a name in the list below!
